The brief
A family of six wanted a house that felt open to the garden without becoming a glass box in the Dubai summer.
The approach
Rooms are set around a long pool that cools the air before it reaches the terraces. Deep roof overhangs shade every opening between ten in the morning and four in the afternoon. One drawing set served the client, the contractor and the interior team, so questions were answered once.
“We asked for a calm house. We got one that also costs less to run than our old apartment.”
The result
The house was finished in fourteen months with no variation claims, and its cooling load is 18% below a typical villa of the same area.
